Who Is Accountable When the Hotel's AI Acts?

AI can act. Accountability cannot be automated.

An executive masterclass for hotel and hotel-group leadership teams.

Why now

Hotels already use AI to price rooms, answer guests and build rosters, and some of those systems act without anyone reviewing them first. Yet 41% of hoteliers report no formal AI policy (Mews Hotelier Survey, 2026), and only 28% of hotel chains report a company-wide AI strategy led by senior leadership (h2c Hotel Chain Tech Report, 2026). When an airline's chatbot gave a customer wrong advice, a Canadian tribunal held the airline responsible for everything on its website, chatbot included (Moffatt v. Air Canada, 2024).

Who it is for

A hotel or hotel-group executive committee working as one team: general manager, operations, revenue, HR, finance and IT. 6–24 participants.

What your team will do

• Map where your AI systems sit on a five-level autonomy ladder, from systems that inform to systems that act on their own.

• Assign accountability for one real workflow, by name, from owner to vendor.

• Choose three non-negotiable controls, including protections for AI decisions that affect your employees.

• Rehearse a live AI incident in a three-round simulation, with guests, staff, the owner and the press all demanding answers at once.

What you leave with

• A Hotel AI Accountability Map your team built itself

• Three non-negotiable controls, each with an owner and a date

• A commitment from every executive, reviewed at a 60-minute follow-up 30 days later

• The Accountability Map & Oversight Checklist tool, to apply to every other AI system you run
